– Welcome –
Hi there, I’m Ayla and I started my Pilates journey in 2017 after having my daughter. At first, I was simply looking for a way to get back into shape, I never imagined how quickly I would fall in love with this form of physical fitness or the wider benefits it has, not only on my body but my mind as well.
I quickly realised that there is a lot more involved with Pilates than I first thought as it encompasses a l mind-body awareness, is developed through concentration and control, and requires both balance and strength.
What I love most about Pilates is that the movements seem small and simple but if performed with correct technique you definitely feel it the next day, but the results keep you energised throughout the week while waiting for your next class
I decided to retrain as a Pilates teacher in 2020 and follow my passion. I have loved sharing Pilates with people who fall in love with it just as much as I have, finding the benefits plentiful and surprising not only for their bodies but for their mental wellbeing also.
At a time where the pressures of day-to-day life are rising, a Pilates class will help you release, relax and come away feeling both freer and more in control of your body and mind.
The ethos behind Pilates with Ayla is different from other gym environments.
Combined with my individual approach, sound knowledge and founded upon Social Enterprise principals, I can be flexible and accommodating with class payments. I aim to be there for you when needed regardless of your situation. Everyone in the community deserves to feel good about themselves and regular Pilates classes can enable this.
I have experience in teaching children through to 90+ year old. In my classes you will find a mixture of people from all walks of life, some experiencing physical and others emotional challenges. Whatever your needs, they can be accommodated.

“Change happens though movement and movement heals” – Joseph Pilates
Pilates lessons aim to teach a safe and effective full body workout; working your main muscles groups, targeting your core strength to support your spine, and realigning your posture before relaxing and stretching you out again. Pilates is not just your average exercise class, it’s a way of rebuilding yourself and taking control over your body.
Pilates provides strengthening actions to help prevent injury, building blocks and support to rebuild if needed and mobility movements to keep your body working efficiently for longer.
“Through the Pilates method of body conditioning, this unique trinity of a balanced body, mind and spirit can be attained. Self-confidence will follow.”
Joseph Pilates created this set of movements originally referred to as Contrology in order to combat his own childhood illness and to prevent any deterioration. He developed the original 34 mat exercises inspired by a range of different exercise, meditative principals, and dance movements. He then used Pilates as a way to rehabilitate after World War 1, finally ended in New York where he and his wife opened up a dance studio and taught professional dancers how to realign their bodies and strength.
